What is coaching?
Coaching is a pro-active, optimistic interaction that focuses on people’s inherent strengths and seeks to facilitate the actions that take people from where they are professionally and personally to where they want to be.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching is service, which focuses on an individual’s life as it relates to goal setting, outcome creation and personal change management. Coaching supports personal and professional growth and development based on individual-initiated change in pursuit of specific actionable outcomes that are linked to personal or professional success. Therapy focuses on dysfunction, conflict and healing pain within an individual and relationships. The primary focus of therapy is often on resolving difficulties arising from the past. Coaching is forward moving and future focused.
Through coaching we assume that individuals or teams are capable of generating their own solutions, with the coach supplying supportive, discovery-based approaches and frameworks.
How Does Coaching work?
Coaching is delivered during regular sessions by telephone, Skype, online and/or in person, whichever is more convenient. A coach helps you determine your needs by understanding what you are trying to increase or decrease. A coach works with you to uncover the "gaps" between your present state and your desired state.
What is the Length of Coaching Session?
Coaching sessions range from 45-90 minutes. All depending on the partnership that the coach and client agree to.
What is the average time of the Coaching client partnership?
The minimum commitment is three to six months. The benefits of coaching build over time. To ensure that the experience is as valuable as possible, most coaches encourage clients to make the commitment important.
